What We Believe
A) The Trinity: One God in three persons. God the Father, God the
Son, God the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
B) The Virgin Birth: The Lord Jesus Christ was born of the virgin
Mary, and conceived of the Holy Spirit, He was God made flesh. Born
into the world yet without sin.
Luke 1:34-35; Hebrews 4:14-15; Phillippians 2:7-8
C) Universal Sin: All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory
and purpose. Though Adam's sin man became separated from God.
Romans 3:22-23; Romans 5:12
D) Salvation: There is only one way for a person to be saved. You
must be born again through repenting of your sins and trusting Jesus
as Lord and Savior.
Acts 3:18-20; John 3:3, 16
E) The Bible: We believe in the whole Bible, and that it is the Word
of God. All Scripture is God breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness.
II Timothy 3:16-17
F) Spiritual Gifts: We believe all the gifts of the Holy Spirit
are still in operation and have not passed away with the Apostolic
age or the canonization of Scripture. The Spirit gives these gifts
to each one as He determines.
I Corinthians 12:1, 7, 11
G) The Promise: One day Jesus will return with all who have trusted Him. The dead will rise, the living will be caught
up with them and we will be with the Lord forever.
I Thessalonians 4:15-18
Our Vision
God has given us an initial vision that involves three
parts.
1. Worship - God has called us to be a church that is known for its powerful worship. We
have made great strides toward fulfilling our vision through the
addition of Zeke Daniels as our Worship Leader. Zeke is a talented
singer, musician and song writer. His unique vocal talents and sensitivity
to the Holy Spirit, along with our band, praise team and choir, provide an
uplifting worship experience. As God helps us attain our goals we
will one day assist other churches in reaching their goals for developing
powerful worship services. We pray for the day that the name First
Baptist Church Poinciana becomes synonymous with worship.
2. Christian Outreach Center - God has laid upon our hearts the
desire to show the love of Christ in real, measurable ways to those
that are hurting and in need. Currently we are helping the less
fortunate through benevolence and a food pantry. However, our goal
is to have a Christian Outreach Center that will provide crisis pregnancy
counseling, adoption information and help, victims counseling, health screenings,
adult education classes and an expanded food pantry. As the Lord leads
we will add more buildings and additional ministries.
3. Preschool
Little Lambs Preschool for ages 1-4 years is now open. It provides quality, reasonably priced childcare for working parents. Children will experience a clean and safe environment where they will learn about the love of Christ through age appropriate curriculum. It is our hope and prayer that we will soon expand our program to include other age groups
4. Missions
In order to fulfill the Great Commission we want to be a church that takes regular mission trips to various areas of the United States and abroad to other countries.
