Stephanie was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduating from Louisiana College in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education, she taught overseas for two years in Spain and Yemen through the International Mission Board. In 1995, she graduated from the University of Texas with a master’s degree in linguistics, married Kevin Moss, and moved to Oklahoma.
Stephanie taught English as a Second Language at Oklahoma City University until she and her husband moved back to their hometown of Shreveport so he could serve as youth minister at Stephanie’s home church. She then worked for Lucent Technologies teaching in their local manufacturing plant’s adult learning center and eventually advanced to a position as the human resources representative for over 900 employees.
In November 2001, Kevin and Stephanie left their families in Louisiana and moved to Florida when Kevin accepted the position of youth pastor of the First Baptist Church of Poinciana. Stephanie got involved in the choir, taught youth Sunday School, and soon became the church visitation coordinator. The much anticipated arrival of their daughter Emily came in 2004. In February 2006, Stephanie accepted her current position as Financial Secretary and has successfully transferred the church’s financial ledger and payroll system from paper to computer.
